Addressing Delays and Price Increases

Thursday, June 23rd, 2022

Supply chains are still struggling to reach their pre-pandemic state. This is continuing to translate into delays for certain materials and supplies. Because of this, we want to make sure our customers are informed that, while we continue to put forward our best efforts, getting commercial services and some residential services taken care of may involve a longer wait time than before.

Delays are also continuing to create increases in prices for different systems and materials which will likely include at least two more price increases before September arrives.

We at Douglas Heating & Air Conditioning want to make sure to help our customers know what to expect in terms of these continued delays and price increases.

We also believe in being proactive in handling these problems. If you are noticing problems with your commercial or residential systems, we encourage you not to wait to get them checked and serviced. The sooner you book appointments to address budding issues, the quicker and more affordable they are likely to be.

Reach out to book your appointment with Douglas Heating & Air Conditioning today.

Dealing With A Generator Shortage

Wednesday, November 18th, 2020

We all know that the weather around here can be unforgiving at times. If you are looking to install a generator in the near future to help you get through periods of rougher weather, you should know there may be a delay in getting this system to your home.

There is currently a problem with our ability to get generators from our supplier, the manufacturer Generac. Multiple factors have created a delay in the delivery of these systems. This shortage is expected to last until March 2021. We understand this is a bummer but we are grateful for your patience. We promise that we will fulfill generator installations as soon as possible we have the systems available.

Make Sure Your Home Is Ready For Hurricane Season

Friday, September 4th, 2020

Its the season for tropical storms and hurricanes in the Florida area which means that there is every chance our region will get some rough weather too. We’ve already been hit with some storms in the last couple of weeks so you likely are already thinking about how best to prepare your home if anything else comes our way. The team at Douglas Cooling & Heating can offer you some helpful tips and services to get you through it.

  • Shut down major appliances to protect them. It may not sound like fun, but shutting down major appliances like your air conditioner can help protect them from damage that could be caused by power surges in a storm.
  • Make sure you have back-up supplies. Make sure you have some fresh water, canned goods, batteries, a flashlight, and any other essentials that you might need in an emergency.
  • Have a professional check your generator. Don’t wait until the lights go out to discover a problem with your generator. Be ready by scheduling your generator maintenance, repairs, or any other generator services in Birmingham needs now to avoid issues later.

Our team wants to make sure you stay safe this hurricane season. If you need help with your home systems, contact Douglas Cooling & Heating. Your experience is what matters most!

All the Benefits of a UV Air Purifier

Friday, March 20th, 2020

woman-blowing-noseIn light of current news, we wanted to take a moment to tell you all about the benefits of installing a UV air filter in your home, specifically Global Plasma Solutions (GPS) UV Air Filters. Using an ultraviolet light air filter is one of the best ways to improve your overall comfort, health, and well-being.

But, how exactly does this work? Well, UV light kills or neutralizes any airborne viruses or bacteria passing through your ducts. The UV rays damage the DNA of microbes that pass under it, preventing them from reproducing and causing infections. This helps to keep the air in your home healthier.

GPS UV Air Filters are installed directly into your ductwork and help to purify the air that cycles through your comfort systems, killing off things like viruses, bacteria, and all sorts of other yucky germs. Oh, and here’s an added bonus: the GPS 2400 removes odors as well!

When you pair a top-notch air filtration system with consistent healthy hygiene practices, like washing your hands, you’ll be much better off! Stay safe out there!

Schedule your indoor air quality services with the team at Douglas Cooling & Heating today. Your Experience is What Matters Most!

There is much to consider regarding the COVID-19 virus (Coronavirus) and its possible transmission in your home. While there are various and effective indoor air quality measures available to help protect your safety, including duct sanitization, ultraviolet (UV) germicidal light treatment, and HEPA air filters, they alone cannot protect from all forms of COVID-19 transmission. It is important to follow all official guidelines for preventing the spread of this virus.
